These boots likely date to the early 2000s. Presented in good vintage condition with creasing at the vamps and surface marks at the toes of both boots. The right toe has a slightly darker faintly scuffed mark at the center of the toe and there are scuffs at the inside left toe. The back heel area shows surface scuffing and marks, including a black toned mark at the outside side of the right heel. The footbeds are in good condition with light impressioning from previous use. The original neocork soles are in good condition with some surface wear to the stitching (structural integrity of the soles is great). In my opinion these boots have their original heels; they are in fair condition and worn about halfway through at the edges. These boots have been worn only a few times (about 3–4 wears total) and remain in outstanding, excellent condition. Alden style 405 boots size 10.5 B/D that I wore for years, then had then restored by Alden with new neo-cork soles, heels, laces, and the leather restored. Sadly I then had a foot injury and have not been able to wear them since I got them back from Alden. To clarify, these were restored at the Alden factory with original components. The entire sole and footbed are new, see the photo of the "Alden Restoration" mark on the inside.  With these boots you are getting the best of both, a broken-in and restored leather upper, and fresh soles and heels. The uppers have normal leather wear marks and marks on the side of the leather heel, these  have been factory conditioned and polished, see photos I am including the branded dust bags that Alden sent when they returned them restored.  Please see photos to confirm condition and ask any questions. This is a good pair of Alden Indy boots, style #405, in a reddish or mahogany calfskin leather with nitrile cork soles and rubber heels. As you probaby know, this style of boots was made famous by Harrison Ford who wore them as Indiana Jones in his movies. He was initially given Red Wing Iron Rangers to wear but he asked "can't I just wear the boots I wore when I was a carpenter?" After the movies became famous, this style of boots earned the nickname Indy.  Interestingly, these are technically not moc toe boots but rather "mock" moc toe - that Alden (and Indy) made famous. I am a big fan of these boots because they have the wider Trubalance last that fits a wide range of feet well. I also love the cork soles which have good traction and yet they are extremely long wearing and comfortable, unlike the mini-lugs that appear to have taken over the market. And, unlike treaded soles, these do not track dirt or mud indoors. Besides, these cork soles are more traditional in style than the mini-lug look.  Personally, I have never had an issue of slippage in these boots, come rain or shine (though they cannot handle ice - but then again, neither can most soles). There are nicks and scuffs here and there, mostly in the heel and toe areas as well as one surface scratch on the outside of the left boot. I have tried to show these in the pictures, particularly the last image as well as the close-up of the toe area. The common recommendation for most high quality goodyear welted boots, is to size down about a half size when buying and that is true here. These have been stored in a smoke-free home.
