All Alden Shoes and Boots are crafted using a Goodyear Welt construction, and feature a tempered steel shank under the arch of the foot. The steel shank provides superior support and comfort throughout the day. 142 Years of Custom Bootmaking The Alden Shoe Company was founded in 1884 by Charles H. Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Alden is now the only original New England shoe and bootmaker remaining of the hundreds who began so long ago. In 1970 a new factory was constructed in Middleborough, Massachusetts where production continues today. Still a family owned business, still carrying forward a tradition of quality genuine-welted shoemaking that is exceptional in every way.

Please know your Barrie size before ordering.  These Alden Long Wing Bluchers are in excellent pre-owned condition, showing only light signs of wear consistent with infrequent use.Upper & Suede Quality Suede Condition: The snuff suede uppers are remarkably clean with a lush, consistent nap and no visible bald spots or deep stains. Creasing: There is very minimal rolling or "flex" creasing across the vamps, indicating they have not been heavily worn. Shape: The shoes have maintained their original structure perfectly, with no sagging at the heels or stretching at the ankles. Interior & Insoles Heel Pads: The gold "Alden New England" logos on the leather heel pads remain crisp and fully intact, which is a primary indicator of low mileage. Insoles: The leather insoles show very light darkening but have not yet deeply molded to the previous owner's foot. Soles & Heels Outsoles: The leather soles show typical surface scuffing from light use. The stitching along the bottom of the soles remains mostly visible and is not ground down. Heel Drag: There is minimal wear to the rubber portion of the dovetail heels. The corners remain sharp and have significant life remaining before a replacement is needed. Edge Finish: The antique edge dressing on the welts is smooth and free of significant nicks or deep gouges. Condition Summary These shoes have been meticulously cared for and are in 9/10 condition. They are essentially "pre-broken in" but aesthetically remain near-new.
