Description: For sale is a pair of Alden black shell cordovan cap toe oxford dress shoes, men’s size 8.5 D, built on the Modified Last. These are marked as a medium/D width and, in my experience, fit closer to a men’s 9 due to the Modified Last shape. with box Classic Alden black shell cordovan with cap toe brogue detailing, leather soles, and rubber heel caps. A great traditional dress shoe that works well with suits, business wear, formal occasions, or classic menswear wardrobes. Condition: Pre-owned and worn. The shell uppers still have a strong shine and present well, but there are visible signs of use, including creasing, surface marks/scuffs, and some wear around the sides and toe areas. Alden Algonquin split toe derbies in color 8 shell cordovan, on Modified last with standard single oak leather sole and foot balance Thomas heel.  Size 8.5 D.  Fully lined interior.  The Modified last is celebrated across the globe for its pronounced arch support, narrow heels, high instep, and wide toe box.   This pair of factory seconds (FD) was purchased in July 2025.  Toe taps installed by Orinda shoe repair.  Worn less than ~30,000 steps, all on city sidewalks.  The handwriting on the interior lining indicates this pair was manufactured in April 2025.   Manufacturing defects on this pair of seconds is primarily a scratch and dark circular blog around that scratch, below the interior ankle of the right shoe.  See photos 20, 21, 22.   Ships with a white Alden factory seconds shoebox, with mismatched label (same model, wrong size).  

Classic Alden modified last shoe. Color 8 shell is gorgeous and well cared for. Some signs of wear over the years but only prettier for it. Shipped in Alden shoe bags. No original box.
