Alden 975 Color 8 Shell Cordovan Long Wing Blucher

Alden 975 long wing blucher originally manufactured for J. Crew per the heel pad. These are US men's size 10D (Alden calls it a combination last D forefoot/B heel) in color 8 shell cordovan. These have been worn on and off for a few years but do not fit my feet well. I have had topy half soles applied, otherwise these are on their original soles and heels. I have conditioned these with a light coat of venetian shoe cream. Plenty of life left in the uppers (it is shell after all) as well as the soles. The shoe trees are not included but original shoe bags will be.

These shoes are likely vintage to 1987, (identified by the date code indicating a manufacture year ending in ”7”, the logo type inside the shoes, and an original dovetail heel). In my opinion 1977 is not a possible manufacture date as Alden’s shoes had metal v cleat heels. Cosmetically these shoes are in good condition with creasing at the vamps and light scuffing at the toes and back heel area of both shoes. There are light marks at the inside side of the left shoe near the lacing. The footbeds are in excellent condition with very light impressioning only. These shoes retain their original soles and heels; the double leather soles are firm to the press and in good condition. The toes have flush metal toe taps that appear to be professionally installed to a fair standard. The original heels show light edge wear only to the rubber part of the toplift. There are several stitches that have come loose at the outside side of the right facing; this area should be monitored and does not need immediate repair.
