Alden N5802 Black Calfskin Plain Toe Boot

Purchased these in 2023 during a Black Friday sale from The Shoe Mart. They are a very dark navy blue chromexcel -- they almost look black. Size is 8 D, and I found that these fit true to size, but have a somewhat generous instep. I've put light gray laces on the boots, but they will also come with the original black laces. The color of the boots looks black in many types of lighting. The blue doesn't really show unless you're in indirect sunlight. Sole is a plantation crepe sole, which is very squishy and soft. Has a 270 degree goodyear welt, even though it looks like a 360 degree welt. Last is the 379X last (Military). I believe this boot is marketed towards the Japanese market. This was a pair of factory seconds. The reason these were seconds is because there's a dent or line on the left boot on the ball area. There's also some signs of wear from me using them (see pictures). Overall though, they have only been used a short time. The lining is cream colored. Does not include shoe trees. Will include the original white box. No shoe bags came with this boot because it was a factory second. Sizing: some people go down 1/2 size in the 379X, but I do not. It will depend on if you have a high instep. If you have a lower than average instep, these could be too big for you. Length of sole is 11 7/8ths inches long. ALDEN ALL WEATHER WALKER INDIE BOOT SZ 7.5 D!!! These are a factory reject but have very very minor issues. The stitching on the soles has a few imperfections (see photos). I reached out to Alden to see if they would reject a shoe/boot for these minor issue and they said Yes. That being said the rest of the boot have no issues. They were a custom order for someone or for a shop like Shoemart or another independent store. They are in excellent condition (other than what was mentioned) on both the uppers and soles/heels. The leather has no imperfections and holds a beautiful shine. The All Weather Walker soles/heels show very light wear. I will be happy to answer any questions or add photos.
