For your consideration: a lightly used pair of Alden for Brooks Brothers full strap loafers in a handsome No.8 color. Made from high shine, smooth, vegetable-tanned Horween shell cordovan leather. Shaped over the Aberdeen last and tagged a size US 11.5, D width. Single leather outsole, flat welt, black edge trim, and matching welt stitching. Vegetable-tanned leather insoles over a cork bed with a tempered steel shank. This is the version of the #684 loafer style once sold in partnership with Brooks Brothers (#06597). When I purchased these shoes last year, they seemed in barely-worn condition. I had them fitted with Vibram "topy" soles and heel and toe taps at that time, to maximize the lifespan of the original soles. I loved the rich depth and variation of color in the finish and intended to keep these for a lifetime. However, after wearing them around the office about 15 times, I realized that the width of my feet are better accommodated in loafers in a size 11.5E. So I am offering these up here for sale. It is hard to capture the color exactly, but it is best shown in the penultimate photos, the close-ups of the sides of the sole & topy. The leather of the vamps has rolls and creases typical of shell cordovan. There is wear and light scuffing to the leather throughout. There are some sharpie marks to leather interior of shoes, but these do not show while the shoes are being worn. I never gave them a thought while wearing the shoes. Alden made for Brooks Brothers, burgundy (Alden Color 8) shell cordovan full strap loafers. I believe these are on Alden’s Aberdeen last so I need different size.
