Over the years Alden has used pebble grain shell sparingly in both color #8 and black and it is very uncommon to find them for sale on the secondary market. I was able to confirm with Alden in writing that the uppers of these shoes are made from black pebble grain shell cordovan and I can provide a copy of the communications upon request. As far as I can determine, this model was a European exclusive, single run model with somewhere around 12-24 total pairs manufactured. Uppers in good condition with only one small mark on the back of the right heel. Original soles and heels covered with a rubber sole cover whch shows some surface wear. The footbeds are in good condition and are not deeply imprinted. The original heel toplifts have been replaced with full rubber heels.
