This is an oiled leather with a high oil content; unlike the famous Chromexcel, it lacks a waxy or slick feel, instead offering a thick, supple, and springy texture. It is an exceptional leather that feels soft and comfortable against the foot. The shoes have been worn approximately five times since purchase, and the leather (the discontinued UTICA Calf) remains in excellent condition. There are virtually no noticeable scratches.
