Alden Indy boots with French rusticalf leather, on Trubalance last, size US 8.5 D (standard width).  Rusticalf is a luxuriously soft, matte full grain leather that is rarely featured on Alden makeups.  It feels very similar to funchal from Tannerie d'Annonay, from my experience owning funchal bit loafers from Carmina.  Although 4012HC is a stock model available to order from multiple Alden stockists, it is often on backorder due to the scarcity of how often Alden receives batches of rusticalf.   The Indy Boot is named after the fictional Indianapolis Jones character portrayed by Harrison Ford.  Mr. Ford purchased a pair of work boots in this pattern from a Sherman Oaks Alden retailer when working as a carpenter, then continued to wear those boots on screen after he was cast in Raiders of the Lost Ark.  This model is a modern iteration of the original indy boot, with commando soles for improved comfort over the original model's neocork sole.  Discrete brown stitching on the moccasin style toe boxes, and brown antique edging makes this a dressier variant of the Indy boot pattern.  The fully lined, yet soft rusticalf leather is this model's unique selling point, and it's the closest that I've experienced to an "unlined" indy boot as the softness of this leather drapes like a blanket over around one's feet.  In stark contrast to how wearing Indy boots typically feel like encasing one's feet in a coat of leather armor, when wearing ones constructed on the more common upper materials like reverse chamois, shell cordovan, standard calf, or chromexcel.  This pair is new in box, unworn since initial purchase from an Alden retailer in September 2025.  Shortly after I acquired this pair, I came into possession of Alden of Madison's 1932HC makeup in chromexcel with handsewn apple pie crust stitching on the vamp and elected to wear that instead.  With Indy Boots in color 8 cordovan, and earth reverse chamois currently in my rotation, having 2 pairs in brown is surplus to my requirements.  I'm hoping this unworn pair in brown rusticalf may go on to live its best life through providing utility and enjoyment to its next owner, rather than being shelved in my closet.   For those who do not have convenient access to an Alden retailer to try on the Trubalance last for fit, here are my sizes across other manufacturer lasts in hopes this may be a useful reference.  I am size 9.5 E US brannock.   -  Alden barrie:  9 D calf (slightly too roomy), 8.5 D cordovan (slightly too tight around toes) -  Alden grant:  9 D cordovan -  Alden hampton:  9 D calf, comfy in toebox and good arch length fit, but tight at instep -  Alden trubalance:  8.5 D in cordovan, chromexcel, and reverse chamois -  Alden aberdeen:  8.5 E for cordovan loafers, or 9 E for calf and lace ups and suede loafers.  Aberdeen is generally not a good last for me, due to its infamously narrow toebox, low instep, and cavernous heel cup -  Alden modified:  8.5 D  -  Alden van:  8.5 E in cordovan, 9 D in unlined suede.  Comfy toe box width, but uncomfortable at instep -  Allen Edmonds 65:   10 D US in all leathers.  Good toebox width, but bad instep fit, resulting in wide V gaps on oxford lace-up -  Allen Edmonds 201:  10 D, much more comfortable around instep than 65 last -  Carmina soller:  8.5 UK cordovan -  Carmina xim:  8.5 UK calf -  Carmina inca:  8.5 UK suede -  Carmina rain:  9 UK calf -  Carlos Santos 234:  8.5 UK -  Crockett & Jones 314:  8 UK, unlined cordovan loafers -  Crockett & Jones 325:  8.5 UK suede derbies -  Crockett & Jones 341:  8.5 UK calf oxfords -  Crockett & Jones 376:  8 UK, unlined suede loafers -  Crockett & Jones 378:  8.5 UK -  Crockett & Jones 393:  8.5 UK, suede Riviera lined loafers -  Gaziano & Girling mh71:  9 E UK.  Superb fit. -  New Balance 990 v4:  10 D US.  Not very comfortable due to lack of arch support.  -  Nike Pegasus 41:  11 D US.  Slightly too long, but achieves proper arch length.  10.5 was too tight at ball -  Tricker's 11659:   8.5 UK cutter cowhide loafer.  Good on instep room, slightly tight across toes, ample room at heel.  -  Tricker's 2161:  8.5 UK cutter cowhide chukka -  Saint Crispin's classic:  9 G UK personalized last with instep additions and heel reduction.  Sightly roomy.
