Alden Men's 40218HC Tanker Boot Color 8 Shell Cordovan Barrie Last Size 10.5E. Boot trees not included. Beautiful boots here. Very comfortable with the barrie last. The previous owner had the speedhooks and eyelets swapped to brass and there is some stitching that has come undone where the work was done. Doesn’t affect the functionality of the boot and I have worn them like that since I got them. Also, some of the speedhooks rotate so those could be tightened up if you choose to. Tongue pads were sewn it by previous owner. I can assume if you're looking at these, you're aware of Horween Shell Cordovan and Alden, so I'll save the time. I've owned many pair of Alden Shell Cordovan boots and across various lasts, I've needed to try sizing. These didn't work for me in the size 9. These are built upon the Tru-Balance last, which fits one half size larger than listed, so this will fit to a US size 9.5. Sizing is part art, part science, hence the shoes I'm listing here and the dozens I've parted with over the years. The new owner will love these. They're classic, versatile, stylish, durable. Hard to find a better made boot with more history and class. Shell Cordovan is unique and frankly, best suited to boots. Incredibly hard wearing, these will last someone's lifetime and be put in their will. Goodyear welt construction means resoling is always an option. I've resoled shoes not out of need, but just for a change in the shoe's character. For example, going to a crepe sole on these, or a nice double leather for more dress/casual would be a fun restyle.
