Alden 40503H Brown Chromexcel Indy Boot

Alden Indy Boots model 405 "Officer" Boot for Epaulet NY. Epaulet was a shop on the LES of NYC that has since moved its operation to California. These were a makeup of the Indy Boots that they made without contrast stitching in Chromexel Leather and a leather sole. I had the soles changed to Dainite to handle more weather conditions, and I think it suits the boots well. This was done by Jim's Shoe Repair in Midtown Manhattan in January 2025. The boots have been worn only 2-3 times since then. There is a tear in the inside heel of the left boot. This was caused by the way I walk, and has happened on nearly all my shoes. Because of this, I know this can be handled easily by a reputable cobbler. See last photo for the rip.

Dark Brown Alden shoes with minimal wear and tear as shown in the photos. Includes orthotics, shoe bag, and shoe trees. There are taps to minimize wear and tear on the front and the heel.

Alden x Epaulet 405 Officer Indy Boot 9.5D 40503H Dark Brown Horween Chromexcel.  Trubalance last.   These Indys were a collaboration between Alden and Epaulet in Brooklyn, NY and were at the time one of the more desirable makeups of the Alden Indy. Only a dozen or so pairs were made-up for the boutique per year, and it's been several years to my knowledge that they have been available.  Rarely seen these days for sale second-hand.  Features a double-leather dress sole, and same-color stitching on the toe vs. the usual white/cream colored stitching. A bit dressier than the usual Indy but still casual enough to be worn with chinos, slacks, or darker jeans!  I really love these and hate to let them go but I just don't go out dressed up as much as I used to these days so I'd rather someone else love them!   Excllent shape!  Boots have been well-cared for, show some signs of use of course but very light markings for a boot of this age!  See photos! Lovely patina, and show far less wear than most of the Alden x Epaulet officer indys that pop up for sale from time to time! Relatively light wear, I did not wear these all that often and only into the office/out on the town, never in bad weather or out in the elements.  Plenty of life left in the soles, but as always these can always be resoled if needed by a cobbler or Alden.   The Trubalance Last is one of Alden's larger-sized lasts, so most people suggest sizing DOWN a half-size.  So if you normally measure a men's 10 on a Brannock Device or wear size 10 in most shoes, you would need a 9.5 size on a Trubalance-lasted shoe.   Will ship with shoe trees and bags.  Free shipping to continental US!  Thanks!  

The quintessential Alden 405 “Indy”, by Alden for J Crew. 10.5D. This version is in # 8 Cromexcel, fully leather lined, with a double leather sole instead of the normal cork version. Toe taps have been added. Sole is 7/10 wear remaining. Priced to sell, ships from New Zealand.
