Alden 40510H Brown Chromexcel Indy Boot

These shoes were shaped over a Trubalance last and run one half size larger than regular US sizes. Founded in Massachusetts by Charles H. Alden in 1884, the Alden Shoe Company is now in its fourth generation and is the oldest shoe- and boot-maker in New England. A cult classic for decades, the iconic 405 Indy boots (made famous by Indiana Jones) are customized exclusively for us with a specially stained welt. They're also crafted from Chromexcel leather, which is as good as it gets when it comes to American-tanned leather. Because each pair is expertly and carefully crafted by hand, these boots are available in limited quantities. Available exclusively at J.Crew. Horween Chromexcel leather upper and lining. Cotton laces. Neocork sole. Made in the USA. Some signs of heel wear but so much life left. Two sets of laces included (beige and brown), original box and set of 2 shoe bags. I wear an 8 1/2 or nine sneaker and these fit me well even with chunky socks.

Offered is a preowned pair of Alden Indy Boots style 40510. Size is Alden 9 b?D (D width). I am not sure what the "10" after 405 means.  It appears to refer to a commando sole when first manufactured.  These have been resoled by Alden with the standard 405 rubber soles. See below. There is minor cracking to the surface of the uppers as shown. There are scuffs/dicoloration as shown  that can be polished but I have not done so. There is some stitching on the upper back of the right boot that has come loose.  This can be corrected easily by a cobbler and should not affect wear if left along.  Boots have been previously "restored" by Alden.  This means that the rubber soles, leather and rubber heels were replaced by Alden with new welting added.  Soles remain in excellent condition with some wear to the rubber heels. Included are Alden laces that have not been used. Over all this is a nice preowned pair of boots that will last for years. Ships via USPS Ground Advantage with tracking and full insurance. This is a very fine pair of Alden J. Crew Indy Boots Brown Horween Chromexcel Size 11 B/D 40510H Cork Soles. These are made in the USA, and are in excellent condition. No holes or stains or smells or major scuffs. There are some minor scuffs on the toes and heels, and you can see that in the photos. These have the TruBalance last, so run about 1/2 size big. Really great combo of CXL and Cork soles. Super comfortable and well-built boots. Boot trees not included.
