For sale is a pair of Excellent Used Condition Alden CDI Black Calf Leather Wingtip Derby Wedge Sole Orthopedic Dress Shoes Men's 8.5 E/EEE. For your consideration is a pair of Vintage Alden Dress Shoes, these from their Contoured Depth Inlay (CDI) Collection. An online reddit review for a boot model on this collection summed up their features well: ”...it has extra volume in the shoe to accommodate orthopedic inserts and also quality materials/steel shank/leather insoles to provide stability and support while allowing for comfort. As for the outsole, I'm not a hundred percent sure exactly what it is named but it's basically a wedge sole that has some shape to it so there is a heel. It's comfortable though I can tell you that.” These shoes feature a soft and supple black calfskin leather upper, classic wingtip derby dress shoe design, round waxed black braided laces, leather lining, cushioned removable Alden ”The Foot Balance System” insole, leather sockliner, leather insole, leather midsole, wavy textured wedge outsole, and Goodyear Welted Construction. For reference, here are the approximate measurements (taken along the outsole): Length - 12” Width (at ball of foot) - just under 4.5” These shoes have been worn very sparingly and maintained exceptionally well. There is some minor creasing, general wear, and a few scuffs/marks along the upper (see pictures) but none are excessive or problematic (and can likely be remedied with some polish). The leather insoles notably, perhaps benefitting from the little wear and added insoles, are virtually unworn/unformed, meaning  they will make excellent candidates to break-in for their new owner, forming a custom fit over time.
