The plantation crepe soles are in good condition, leather tips at soles fully intact with no peeling or wear to the nails helping to keep the leather in place. The heels show light edge wear only. These are Alden Plain Toe Boots in Black Shell Cordovan, style number is 45165 H, currently retailing for $800. The size is 11 B/D- I typically wear an 11.5 - 12 in other shoes and sneakers, however have always found Aldens run a bit large. They are in fantastic shape as you can see by the photos. They are my personal shoes and I am the one and only owner, purchased in the New York City Alden shop- they are approximately three years old and have been worn only infrequently and only in the fall. They have never been worn in rain or snow. I have always had both heel and toe caps on the bottoms to protect the soles, and also had a thin layer of vibram rubber professionally placed over the leather toe on the bottom- this should be easily removed by any skilled cobbler should you so desire. They are always stored with Alden shoe trees inside to keep the shape of the boot. I do not have sweaty feet and as a result these boots are odor free! The leather is not creased or cracked and only features very fine marks that can be seen in the photos. I have used Alden black cordovan paste from time to time as a polish. These are amazing boots that can be worn casually or to work, they are incredibly versatile and there are years and years of life left in them.
