Premium US-made formal tie Blucher shoe from Alden based in New England and widely regarded as the finest shoemaker in the USA. I have worn Alden shoes for a few decades and they are the best! These are the REAL patent leather, not synthetic, (like many others on eBay), so they are breathable. I bought these in a hurry for an unanticipated formal occasion and they turned out to be too small. So, after one wearing, my loss is your gain. Size 9.5 US, width D. On the inside of all Alden shoes both the heel width and the more conventional width of the shoe body are marked. In these shoes the B/D marking shows the heel width as B and the shoe body width as D (the heel width is always two sizes LESS than the shoe body) - nothing unusual here. Fine details: oak tanned leather sole with internal steel shank, Goodyear welt, grey leather lined. These shoes are built on the Alden “Modified” last. According to the Alden website, this last runs about half a size BIGGER than the stated US size for most people. So, if you are a size 10 US, these 9.5 shoes have the best chance of fitting. Sole dimensions: 12-1/8” length 4-1/4” maximum width. Shoe trees not included.
