Alden 54321 Color 8 Shell Cordovan V-Tip Blucher

Alden factory seconds (FD) model # 54321 in color 8 shell cordovan in Algonquin split toe pattern, commonly referred to as a V tip.  Sized 8.5 C/A.  On a single leather sole with Thomas heel.  Despite its C width, it is wider at the ball than D width Aldens that I've had on the Barrie last in the size same size (8.5) and same material (shell).   The modified last is celebrated by Alden enthusiasts for its wide toe box, high instep, magnificent arch support, and narrow heel cup.  The A fitting heel on this pair results in exceptional heel fit.   The handwriting on the interior lining indicates this pair was manufactured in November 2022.  I purchased it from TSM around the middle of 2025, only worn it for 3-4 times exclusively indoors.  Shortly after I purchased this, a pair of FD 54321s became available in 8.5 D/B and I found that width be a better fit for my 9.5 E brannock feet.  This pair has been stored unworn in a closet since August 2025.   Ships with Alden branded shoe bags, and a mismatched white Alden factory seconds box.   Defects or irregularities: (1)  A cm of exposed welt at where the upper meets the sole edge, just to the left of the split toe.  See the blue markup circle in photo 17.  (2)  The heel counter stitching on this pair is different than the stitch pattern on the standard 54321.  See photos 6 and 19.  Looks like a layer of leather armor has been stitched on top of the heel counter, given this pair added rustic charm and a unique personality over stock 54321s.   Please feel open to message me with questions around fit.  Alfista88 on styleforum.  Thank you in advance for your interest and consideration, and wishing all welted footwear enthusiasts good luck and fun on your eBay searches!
