Alden 5741F Brown Chromexcel LHS / Penny Loafer

These are Alden factory seconds purchased directly from ShoeMart recently. I could not find any defect whatsoever, other than maybe a couple of irregularities on and around the tongue, but only noticed these in photos, otherwise they seem perfect.. I only wore them once out to dinner, but they are too big for me. The van Last typically runs about a half size larger than your normal size so purchase accordingly. I purchased a size smaller now and they fit perfectly, but since I wore them out of the house, can't return them for full refund. Very minimal scuffs on the bottom, but otherwise nearly perfect! As you probably know, Chromexcel (often abbreviated as CXL) is a signature leather produced exclusively by the Horween Leather in Chicago and used in Alden's shoes. According to all my research and ShoeMart: There is no significant functional or design difference reported between the 17831F and 5741F; they appear to be the same shoe listed under different model numbers, likely by different retailers. Both offer the same comfort-focused, durable, and casual aesthetic. You can search this model or it’s identical model 17831F and see that they’re $700 new! And $450 when factory seconds, but rarely available

For sale is a pair of Alden leisure hand sewn penny loafers in brown chromexcel leather. Minor signs of use mostly on the soles but overall, in excellent condition. Stored with shoe trees and dust bags and includes the original box. The shoe trees will NOT be included. Marked a size 10D on the Van last, exact measurements are as follows: Insole: 11.25" Outsole: 12.25" Outsole width at widest point: 4 and 1/8" Please let me know if you have any questions.
