Up for sale is a rare, discontinued pair of vintage Alden Model 612 Kiltie Tassel Wingtip Loafers in rich brown calfskin leather. Crafted in the USA with Alden’s legendary attention to detail, this rare model beautifully blends a full brogue wingtip toe cap with a classic leather kiltie flap and dual hanging tassels. Unlike the common standard tassel loafers, the 612 is a hard-to-find grail model that offers an incredibly sharp, traditional Ivy/Americana silhouette. The interior linings are clean with very legible stamps. Single oak leather outsoles and heels show honest wear but retain plenty of life before needing a future resole or topy. Alden 612 kiltie tassel wingtip loafer. Discontinued model and harder to find than Alden's standard tassel mocs. These are loafers and are sometimes referred to as Kiltie Tassel Moccasin Slip-Ons. Goodyear welted, single leather outsole, made in USA. Marked 612 on both the box and the insole. Size: 9½ D on the box; insole stamped 9½ B/D (B heel, D toe — Alden combination width). Condition: Outsoles clean with no meaningful wear. Uppers show some variation in color and finish across the vamp — please see photos. Leather is slightly dry and should respond well to conditioner. Potential deadstock or a pair that was bought but never worn outside, again, see photos for condition. Original box and Alden two flannel bags included. Based on some preliminary research I suspect these were made in 1997 but I am uncertain.  Questions and additional photo requests welcome.
