Plated Alden 685 hand-stitched calfskin full strap penny loafers marked size 11D on the Alden Aberdeen last. Simply don’t wear these often enough, and they have not been worn much as you can see from the pictures. Minor cosmetic wear includes a small dark mark on the rear heel counter of one shoe, as shown in the photos. The surrounding leather remains in good condition. The metal toe plates prevent excessive toe wear - it was ~$100 just for plates and installation. Made in the USA, very high quality shoes. Reach out with any questions, happy to answer. This is Alden model 685, built on the Aberdeen last with traditional Goodyear-welt construction and single oak leather outsoles. Handcrafted in the USA/New England. Marked size 11½ B/D. Alden uses combination-width sizing: B denotes the heel width and D the forefoot width, making these a men’s 11.5 D / Medium. The leather uppers are in excellent pre-owned condition and present exceptionally well. Leather remains smooth and rich in color with only very light signs of normal wear. Stitching, penny straps, moc-toe seams and heel areas are all clean and intact. The primary evidence of wear is on the leather outsoles, which show normal surface wear from use.
