Alden 6950 Brown Calfskin Plain Toe Blucher

For sale is a pair of Vintage Alden 6950 Brown Calfskin Leather Plain Toe Blucher Gunboat Dress Shoe Barrie Last Men's 9 B/D. For your consideration is a classic pair of Plain Toe Blucher (PTB) Gunboats, from the famed American Shoemaker, Alden. Their model number is 6950, and from my research, appear to be a Vintage makeup. These shoes feature a supple dark tan/russet brown calfskin leather upper, classic Plain Toe Blucher Gunboat Dress Shoes design, leather lining (Including reinforced leather counter-cover), replacement leather sockliner, leather insole, leather midsole, leather outsole, stacked leather and rubber heel, and Goodyear Welted Construction. For reference, here are the approximate measurements (taken along the outsole): Length - just over 12” Width (at the ball of foot) - 4.25” These shoes have seen a lot of wear, and appear to have been fully rebuilt. A testament to the quality of leather that Alden employs on these shoes, the uppers are remarkably well preserved  (especially considering that these shoes are also a Vintage makeup as well). There are some signs of tearing - especially along the back heel area, but these were competently reinforced during the rebuild of these shoes. With this added leather counter cover support, the back heel area of the shoes have been stabilized. The resole on the soles was done well, with a full leather portion and new rubber heel toplifts. Further, it is Goodyear Welted, meaning the shoes are ready for decades more wear! Given the amount of wear the shoes have faced, I will offer them at a discounted rate. I cleaned and conditioned these shoes, inside and out, with Weimans Leather Wipes, deep cleaned and conditioned with Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner, and polished them with Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream.
