Alden size 11 C/E -- where ”E” represents shoe width (the prefix ”C” is a heel-size indicator) crafted on a Hampton last. These shoes are in truly excellent condition. They are very, very lightly used. The only signs of wear appear on the black-colored leather soles -- what one would expect after a couple of laps around a city block or two. There are no blemishes to the cordovan. Please refer to the listing photos for verification. Potential buyers may wish to contrast the sale price here vs. current advertisements for new such models from Alden dealers. For those unfamiliar with Alden, I'll mention that my usual American shoe size of 11.5 almost always translates to UK 10.5, but for Alden Horween models I am consistently an 11 E. Note also that the patina on these shoes is entirely that of the character of the shell cordovan. While a higher shine may be created as a temporary measure through a tiny drop of paste wax on the toes, I'm not a fan of such treatment. These 9016s have seen nothing but normal brush cleaning and occasional buffing -- along with one or two instances when I applied a -small- amount of Saphir Renovateur, allowed it to be absorbed, followed as always by lengthy buffing. The original shoe box has vanished, but the shoes will be shipped in another Alden box, with the 9016's pristine shoe bags. The pair of shoe trees, as shown in the pictures, are included.

The uppers on the shoes are, structurally, in VERY GOOD condition. The cordovan does have signs of use, they are NOT IN MINT CONDITION by ANY MEANS. Please refer to the pictures. This particular pair of Aldens were made for Brooks Brothers. The last is quite generous, considering that it is a C width. I would say that it fits similar to a Park Avenue in 9D but it is shorter in length. The QC on these shoes are EXCELLENT. You don't see any flaws in the stitching, welting, etc. like you do in modern day Aldens. I have used Saphir MDO Renovateur AND BTC Clear Wax on the uppers. The insoles are in used condition, but the imprint is not as deep as I would expect it to be, I assume Alden has flattened them out and added new cork. This would mean that the shoes would need to be SLIGHTLY broken The insoles will be sanitized prior to shipment. I am NOT NEW to shipping and caring for fine shoes such as these Aldens; your Oxfords have been thoroughly inspected and WILL arrive in the SAME shape as what you see in the pictures.
