Alden 9571F Black Calfskin Cap-Toe Dress Shoes – 12E – Made in USA – Box & Bags Beautiful pair of genuine Alden New England cap-toe dress shoes in excellent, lightly worn condition. Includes original box and new/never used Alden shoe bags. If you’re not familiar with Alden, these aren’t typical department-store dress shoes. Alden has been making premium footwear in Massachusetts since 1884 and is one of America’s best-known traditional shoemakers. Comparable new Alden calfskin dress shoes currently sell for around $700+. These are made from black calfskin leather, fully leather-lined, with genuine leather insoles and traditional Goodyear-welted construction. Unlike inexpensive glued dress shoes, Goodyear-welted shoes are designed to be resoled by a good cobbler and can provide many years of service when properly cared for. This is Alden model 9571F, a classic straight-tip/cap-toe blucher. It’s an exceptionally versatile style—appropriate with a suit for weddings, business or formal occasions, but understated enough to wear with dress trousers or a sport coat. The calfskin uppers remain beautiful with only normal light creasing and minor signs of wear. Interiors are exceptionally clean. Original leather soles show normal surface wear from use but have substantial life remaining. Heels show very little wear. Please see the photos, including the soles, for the exact condition. These have been stored carefully and simply don’t fit me properly, so I’d rather they go to someone who can enjoy them. A note about sizing: These are marked 12E by Alden and 12 C/E inside the shoes. Alden uses combination sizing; C/E indicates a narrower C heel paired with an E-width forefoot. Fit varies by foot and by shoemaker, so please rely on the manufacturer’s marked size rather than comparisons to what I or someone else wears in another brand.
