Part of a massive closet clear-out—I simply have too many shoes and these aren't getting the rotation they deserve. This is the Alden 9697F, a beautiful dark brown suede penny loafer. Unlike the more common Van last versions, these are built on the Copley last, which offers a slightly trimmer, more refined silhouette. They also feature Alden’s famous Flex-Welt construction, making them incredibly comfortable and flexible right out of the box. The Details: • Size: 12D (Fits pretty true to size on the Copley last). • Leather: Premium Dark Brown Suede—very versatile and works with everything from denim to tailored trousers. • Sole: Flex-Welt water-lock leather soles for maximum flexibility. • Construction: Fully leather-lined and finished with Alden's signature hand-sewn moc toe. Condition: • Uppers: The suede is in excellent shape; no bald spots or major stains. • Soles: Showing some typical surface wear on the leather soles, but they are solid and have plenty of life left. • Heels: Minor wear on the back outer edges of the rubber taps. • Care: Always stored with shoe trees (not included) in a smoke-free home.
