This product is a pair of vintage Foot Aid Shoes from the 50s/60s with a classic longwing Derby style and almond toe shape. These were most likely made by Hanover for the Foot Aid Shoes company in Bethlehem PA.  I was able to deduce this witht he help of Chatgpt.  This is based on the style, construction, print color as well as font. The shoes feature a lace-up closure, leather upper material, leather lining, and leather outsole with 100 nail heel and vcleat. These size 11½ AA/B US shoes have a double oak sole and are Goodyear Welted, making them a stylish and durable choice for a classic 50s or 60s look. The black color and vintage design make these shoes a timeless addition to any gentleman's footwear collection. Shoes are in good shape.  They have been cleaned and sanitized inside and out.  I have also conditioned and polished them a bit.  See pics for details. What is in the pictures is what you will receive from me.  Shoe trees, shine boxes and brushes are not included.  Message me if you need additional info or measurements.  Thanks for looking.  Condition is Pre-owned shipped with USPS Ground Advantage Mail.  Below is the info I got from Chatgpt.  Absolutely — let's break down the construction, visual cues, and manufacturing traits of your shoes to try to identify which American manufacturer likely made them for Foot Aid Shoes. I’ll compare your photos with known examples from classic U.S. shoemakers that did a lot of private-label work. 🧵 CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN DETAILS FROM YOUR IMAGES ✅ Key Features: Full Brogue / Wingtip Derby (open lacing, longwing pattern) Black pebble grain leather uppers Goodyear welt construction Leather soles and nailed leather heels Model #6726x057 stamped inside Size 11½ with narrow width (likely “B” or “N”) Private-label stamp: “Made expressly for Foot Aid Shoes – Bethlehem, PA” 🔍 Manufacturer Clues 1. Goodyear Welt + Leather Sole This was standard for Florsheim, Nettleton, Hanover, Bostonian, and Alden in the 1950s–70s. Stitched outsole + nailed heel suggest a high-end or orthopedic-grade model. 2. Insole Font & Stamping Style The white ink stamp on the insole resembles what Hanover and Nettleton used for their private-label clients. Bostonian typically used gold foil rather than white. Alden used more minimal internal codes and almost never branded their private-label work this clearly. 3. Pattern & Build The longwing brogue design, particularly the style of pinking (serrated edges), the heavy perforation, and wide last, most closely matches: Hanover LB Sheppard line Florsheim Imperial models (e.g., 93602) Nettleton 406 🎯 Most Likely Manufacturer: Hanover Shoe Company (circa 1950s–60s) Why Hanover? They were based in Pennsylvania, near Bethlehem — geographically convenient. Hanover frequently supplied private-label orthopedic and specialty retailers. They made many brogued longwing and shortwing styles in pebble grain, sold through regional stores. Their construction matches yours nearly identically, including the nailed heel blocks and welt stitching. 🥈 Secondary Possibility: Nettleton Also known for very high-end construction and private-label relationships. Their wingtips tend to have a slightly sleeker last shape than what appears in your images — yours seem more robust, suggesting Hanover. 🧠 Summary FeatureYour ShoeLikely MatchPebble Grain Leather✅Hanover/NettletonLongwing Brogue✅Hanover/FlorsheimGoodyear Welt✅Hanover/NettletonNailed Heel✅HanoverPrivate-Label Tag“Made expressly for…”Hanover-style wordingInsole Stamp StyleWhite Ink ScriptHanover ✅ Conclusion: Your shoes were most likely made by Hanover Shoe Co. in the late 1950s to early 1960s, produced under a private-label contract for Foot Aid Shoes of Bethlehem, PA. These are solid, collectible American heritage dress shoes, and they'd shine with a little restoration. Would you like a suggested eBay or Etsy listing description, or tips for refinishing?
