Just back from a fresh clean and resole by my cobbler here in NYC. I really wanted to keep these but they are just a little too big for me. I had them resoled with top of the line JR soles, Italian heals, and a Vibram rubber sole protector, as seen in the pictures. The Alden 990 is the definitive cordovan plain toe blucher, and an icon of the brand. These will last for many years and look fantastic, IMHO.
