The shoe was returned because the owner wanted the shoe retrofitted to incorporate the commando sole. It was added but the owner never claimed it (nor paid for the retrofitting). I purchased it as new but I suspect the previous owner may have worn it, albeit indoors, prior to taking the decision to have the commando sole added.
