Brand New In Box J.Crew x Alden D1422 Brown Suede Derby Barrie Last Men's Shoes 9.5D BNIB. The shoes come with all packaging and the dust bags (originally purchased new from J.Crew). Please ensure you are familiar with Alden’s sizing and the BARRIE last because I do not offer returns . From the J.Crew website : Founded in Massachusetts by Charles H. Alden in 1884, the Alden Shoe Company is now in its fourth generation and is the oldest shoemaker in New England. This handsome blucher is made on Alden's famous Barrie last and with a water-lock outsole that naturally repels moisture. It's also crafted from rich, buttery suede, and constructed with a Goodyear welt, which means you can resole it again and again for a lifetime of wear. Suede upper. Leather lining and sole. Made in the USA.

Beautiful brown suede Alden shoes made expressly for J Crew. The color is “hummus” or “humus” which is a bit grey to my eyes and less “chocolate” than some other Alden suede. Size 9D on the Barrie last. Very lightly worn. They were a dress shoe for me primarily and worn with jeans a few times. The heels will not need replacing any time soon! The uppers are in great condition. Also, they were always stored with Alden’s cedar shoe trees. Two modifications: First, brown tonal eyelets to replace the brass eyelets that the shoes came with. I found the brass to be too high of a contrast when the shoes were on foot. The work was done by Aram the Cobbler. Second, vibram sole savers were installed to protect the leather soles and increase the longevity. I had this done locally by a respected cobbler. It is perfectly done. Shoe trees are NOT included.
