I have up for sale a pair of VERY RARE Alden color 4 cap-toe boots. These boots have not been worn, only tried on. The specs are as follows: Barrie last Color 4 Shell Cordovan Matching eyelets/hooks Split reverse welt Commando Sole I took a chance when ordering these as the Barrie last has been hit and miss for trying several boots and shoes over the years. I think I've finally come to terms that the last simply does not work me, perhaps more so in boots than shoes as I have a fairly low volume foot (instep wise) As beautiful as they are, its not worth keeping them given the expense of rare shell these days. Color 4 from Alden is incredibly rare as they've only reintroduced the color back into their rare shell rotation in the last year or two. This color and Ravello are probably the harder colors to secure. Rare shell in general is already hard to get without waiting several years or being a high spender at a shop to get a pair allocated. For sizing reference, I'm a brannock 10D Alden Trubalance: 9.5D (probably my best last) Alden Van: 9.5D Alden Barrie** (I've had 9.5D shoes/boots and while they fit, I prefer toe room which is why I tried E with these but the facings touch on the boot which I don't like at all. I would probably be ok with 9.5E shoes) Alden Modified; 9.5D Whites 55: 9.5D These really are some of the nicest Aldens I've seen in terms of finish/QC and the color 4 is absolutely perfect (not too red, last pic is next to a color 8 boot for comparison) All rare shell from Alden these days is $1k+ depending on the vendor and make up.
