Alden D6415 Black Shell Cordovan Plain Toe Blucher

I bought these a few years ago from Unionmade, which was doing a few subtle makeups with Alden. This is a take on Alden’s plain toe blucher on the ever-popular Barrie last. I believe they call this style the Dover because it has these quarter pieces on the side. Unionmade added these metal eyelets that I think give it a really cool look. Always stored in shoe trees (not included in the sale) and I’ve got the Alden dust bags to add in. They're size 9 B/D. I’m a 10 on the Brannock and like many others I go down a full size on the Barrie last.

The shoes arrived with a significant amount of visible white wax. Rather than polish out the excess wax myself and potentially damage the mint condition I have intentionally left it on. Photos of shoes are of actual item for sale and show condition. I've attempted to take photos in bright light that fully reveal the extent of the white wax. From the Alden care section of the Alden Madison website:”Often on new shell cordovan shoes, a white, waxy substance will form. This is also normal; the residue from the tanning of the leather. To remove the white wax, simply wipe off with a paper towel. To remove the wax in difficult areas, such as between stitches, use a toothbrush.” Sizing information: Most Alden retailers recommend sizing down a 1/2 size from your regular athletic shoe size for the Barrie last.
