Alden D8922HC Earth Reverse Chamois Indy Boot

Alden Indy Boots in earth reverse chamois, size 8.5 D (standard width) on the TruBalance last with smoke Commando Sole.  Model D8922HC is an Alden San Francisco retailer-exclusive limited production run.  Fully lined on the interior with glove lining for the panels and dark brown leather trimming.   Reverse chamois is Horween's rough out suede treated with oils to make it water repellent.  Water just bounces right off it, in such a magical way that makes one wonder if Horween learned the secrets of the impervious charm from Hogwarts and applies it to batches of this leather as it leaves their Chicago tannery.   The inspiration for Alden's naming of this color "earth" comes from fertile soil of America's Great Plains.  Color varies from batch to batch, with hues ranging from very dark purplish brown, to black, to green, to grey, and every color in between.  Fortunately, the leather uppers used on the left boot and right boot were made from the same batch of earth reverse chamois, and there is no color variance between left and right.   Under bright indoor lighting, this pair looks charcoal.  Darker indoors lighting, black.  And under bright natural sunlight, a dark British racing green.   This pair was manufactured in November 2024, according to the handwriting on the interior glove lining.  I purchased it from Alden San Francisco in January 2026, and have only worn it a very small handful of times.  Selling because I recently had the great fortune of finding a couple pairs of Modified last indy boots, and those fit me better due to their narrower heels, narrower throat opening around the ankles, and elevated arch support in relation to the TruBalance last.  Ships with Alden shoebox and Alden branded cloth boot bags.
