Alden N6428 Black Calfskin Plain Toe Dover

I have for sale a pair of  Alden plain toe derby shoes in black calf on the 379x Military last. They have Aldens waterloc oiled leather sole and have blind eyelets. The shoes were a pre-order from Brogue, a premier Alden dealer in California.  The only reason I'm selling is that I mis-sized these shoes by half a size, and pre-orders from Brogue are final sale. I've seen various sizing suggestions for Alden Military last, some say true to size, some say half down (barrie size). I took a chance going true to size, and given my low volume foot, its just a little too large for me that I feel long term half size down would have been the right call. Brogue does recommend taking your Barrie size, but I made the mistake of not doing that so it was entirely my fault.  The shoes were tried on once, and I took a few steps on a hardwood floor (don't have carpet) so theres a couple of small marks on the soles. Otherwise the shoes are basically in brand new condition.  I was looking forward to getting these as to me these are a classic vintage style derby to go with my vintage style wardrobe. Just looking to recoup some of the funds to re-order the correct size when I can.  Sizing wise, I would say yes, go half down from brannock for a standard medium width foot. For example, I'm a 10D brannock and should have gotten a 9.5D. So these will fit a 10.5D brannock person. Only way I can see going true to size in this last is if you have a high instep or a slightly wider foot (E-width) Please let me know if you have any questions. I've been collecting Alden for over a decade, but mostly have Barrie and Trubalance shoes and boots.  Retail for these was $750 new. Please no lowball offers as these are basically brand new.
